Both Classic and Serverless SQL Warehouses work with Preset. Serverless is recommended for most use cases due to instant startup and auto-scaling. For predictable heavy workloads, Classic with auto-stop can be more cost-effective.
Yes. In Preset, you can add multiple Databricks connections—useful for connecting dev, staging, and production workspaces or different Unity Catalog catalogs.
Preset caches query results to reduce load on your SQL Warehouse. You can configure cache TTL per dataset. For real-time dashboards, set shorter cache durations or disable caching.
Preset supports Databricks personal access tokens and service principal authentication. For production, we recommend service principals with appropriate Unity Catalog grants.
